Aileen Ruiz graduated with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2003 and began practicing veterinarian medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana.

In 2005, Dr. Ruiz’s life changed forever thanks to Hurricane Katrina. She moved to Lawrenceville, Pennsylvania with her pets to rebuild her life and continue to practice veterinary medicine – establishing Big Easy Animal Hospital, the only Hispanic-owned veterinary hospital in the city of Pittsburgh.

With assistance from First Commonwealth Bank, Dr. Ruiz is now looking to grow and expand.
