Upcoming Changes for 2026:
- March 20, 2026:
- The Standard Company Entry Descriptions, PAYROLL must be used for the payment of wages, salaries, and other similar types of compensation.
- The Standard Company Entry Descriptions, PURCHASE must be used for e-commerce or the online purchase of goods.
- June 19, 2026:
- Originators, Third-Party Service Providers and Third-Party Senders: All Originators need to establish and implement risk-based processes and procedures reasonably intended to identify ACH entries (debits and credits) initiated due to fraud. Each Originator will need to review at least annually their processes and procedures and make any appropriate updates to address evolving risks. The objective of the Rule is to reduce the incidence of successful fraud attempts through regular fraud detection monitoring.
