Melisa Barbus

Melisa Barbus joined First Commonwealth Insurance Agency in May of 2023 as an Agency Finance Specialist. She assists the Agency Finance Supervisor with various duties in the accounting department. Prior to joining First Commonwealth Insurance Agency, she worked in a variety of accounting-related roles. She comes to us with more than 10 years of professional accounting experience. Melisa has a background in areas of accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, payroll, quarterly tax reporting, managing employee profiles, reports, and a variety of other accounting tasks.

In Melisa’s position, she records commission payments, invoices clients, processes client payments, issues carrier payments, and makes general ledger entries. She also is involved in accounts payable, monthly reports, and budgeting/reforecasting.

Melisa earned her Associate Degree in Accounting in 2010 from Cambria-Rowe Business College.

Melisa enjoys crafting, watching and attending the Pittsburgh Penguins games and bowling on various leagues at the local bowling alley.
