First Commonwealth Receives America Saves’ 2025 Designation of Savings Excellence (DOSE) Recognition
INDIANA, PA (July 17, 2025) ― First Commonwealth Bank has earned the 2025 America Saves Week Designation of Savings Excellence (DOSE) recognition for the seven straight year, an honor explicitly reserved for organizations which effectively and actively promote saving strategies during the annual America Saves Week campaign.
First Commonwealth was one of only 11 banks—and 25 financial institutions—honored with this distinction out of more than 5,000 participating organizations of America Saves Week, which took place this past April as part of Financial Literacy Month. During the week, First Commonwealth opened 265 savings accounts for 256 customers. Its America Saves activities included a weeklong schedule of financial education events, including workshops at local high schools, FCB staff reading books about saving at eight Westmoreland Community Action Head Start locations and also offering free virtual community financial education webinars.
“Delivering financial education is very important to us,” said President Jane Grebenc. “It goes to the core of our mission of improving the financial lives of neighbors and their businesses. We’re happy to do it, and I am proud of our team to be recognize for the work they do.”
Nationally, during the week, the participating institutions helped to reach more than 28.5 million individuals and encouraged $155 million worth of deposits into new and existing savings accounts.
America Saves Week is an annual event by America Saves, a program under the Consumer Federation of America.
