First Commonwealth’s Jesse Brocious Receives Statewide Banking Award

Indiana, PA (October 2) – Jesse Brocious, Senior Vice President/Real Estate & Facilities Manager received the Strategic Thinker Award at the Pennsylvania Bankers Association’s (PA Bankers) virtual Emerging Leaders Conference on September 30.

The Strategic Thinker Award is presented as part of the PA Bankers Highlighting Young Professionals’ Excellence (H.Y.P.E.) Awards program, which highlights the accomplishments of young banking professionals within their financial institutions, the banking industry and their communities.

The Strategic Thinker Award celebrates a professional who is a forward thinker, shows business acumen, and has a good understanding of the market and industry in which their organization operates.

As Real Estate & Facilities Manager, Jesse and his facilities team play an integral role in anything that impacts First Commonwealth’s owned or leased properties, including the entire retail network of 147 branches. Jesse was recognized for specific strategic thinking leadership skills displayed in examples like: managing through the challenging circumstances surrounding a 2018 branch fire, to overseeing construction of new locations, to the real estate leadership role played in doing five acquisitions in five years.

As noted in his nomination, “Through the lens of strategic thinker, Jesse leads his team in a way that creates more value for their roles. Jesse enjoys learning new trends within his industry and correlating those toward possible opportunities with our facilities and encourages his team to do the same. Jesse is a very good communicator and portrays a calming demeanor when presented with challenges, impromptu requests and emergency situations.”

Jesse has been with First Commonwealth Bank for over 12 years, starting as an HR staffing manager and later as a senior compensation manager on that team.  He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Management and also is the owner of West Point Auto Works in Greensburg, PA, where he resides with his wife and three children.
