First Commonwealth Launches its “Be A Part” Community Campaign to Support Organizations Assisting in COVID-19 Efforts

Indiana, PA (April 16) – First Commonwealth Bank has launched its “Be A Part” donation match community campaign across its 28 county footprint in Pennsylvania and Ohio. Through April 30, 2020, First Commonwealth will match dollar-for-dollar up to $75,000 what employees and community members pledge or donate to the selected 23 community non-profits and foodbanks.

“We realize that everyone has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Many organizations are stepping up to assist those who have been deeply impacted. As a community bank, we want to help a few of those organizations in our communities. Together, we can make a difference,” offered Elizabeth Saraceno, AVP and Community Engagement Manager with First Commonwealth Bank.

Those interested in donating can visit and after filling out their information, will be directed to the organization’s website to fulfill the contribution. Additionally, First Commonwealth employees have the option of also contributing to the internal “Hearts to Hands” program that assists coworkers going through times of difficulty.

In addition to this fundraising campaign, First Commonwealth has other support designed to help customers dealing with COVID-19 medical and economic conditions. Those efforts include:

  • Converting our retail branch network to lobbies by appointment only, while continuing drive thru access
  • The first community bank to sign on to Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro’s PA CARES Package
  • 90 day forbearance on consumer and business loans, credit cards, service charges and overdraft fees
  • The Small Business Administration’s CARES Act-Paycheck Protection Protection loan program
  • Assistance in the US Department of Treasury’s Economic Impact Payments, including fraud awareness campaigns
  • Reallocation of employees to assist in areas of increased customer demand.
