General Account Information - Deposits

Direct Deposit and Automatic Payments: CenterBank checks, automatic payment and deposit activity using the CenterBank routing number will continue to be processed without interruption. If you want to validate any automatic payments or deposits made to your account during the changeover weekend, you can do so on Tuesday, June 10, by visiting a First Commonwealth office, utilizing First Commonwealth’s Online and Mobile Banking, or contacting our Engagement Center at 800.711.BANK (2265).

Account History: Your CenterBank deposit account transaction history from January 1, 2025 to present will transfer to First Commonwealth. You can contact us to request transaction history or statements prior to the January 1, 2025 date. 

Account Statements: CenterBank will send a final statement on Friday, June 6. First Commonwealth provides monthly statements of deposit account activity. If you currently receive statements in a frequency other than monthly with CenterBank, you will receive monthly statements starting June 7. Certificate of Deposit (CD) customers will not receive a monthly statement, unless you also have a checking or savings account, where your CD account will now show. You can also enroll in eStatements to view all of your statements in Online and Mobile Banking. See below for details.

eStatements: If you are currently receiving eStatements for your CenterBank deposit account(s), you will need to reenroll in eStatements with First Commonwealth. Otherwise, you will begin to receive paper statements in the mail each month. eStatements delivered prior to Friday, June 6 will not be available on First Commonwealth's online banking system.

eNotices: You can receive additional notices and statements electronically, including past due notices, loan invoices, sweep transfers, and opt-in confirmation notices. Simply enroll under the eNotices tab in your Online Banking.

Account Numbers: In almost all cases, your checking account number will stay the same. If your account number is changing, you will be notified in a letter mailed on April 22 and new checks will be mailed to you at no charge, which can be used starting Saturday, June 7.

Savings Account Service Charges: Any applicable service charges for your savings account will now be charged each statement cycle. Learn more.

Personal and Business Checks: You can use up your current supply of CenterBank checks without interruption, unless you were separately notified about getting a new account number. All future check re-orders will receive First Commonwealth branded checks. You can order checks at your local office, by calling the Engagement Center at 800.711.BANK (2265) or through Online and Mobile Banking.

Debit Cards and Health Savings Account (HSA) Cards: You can use your CenterBank business or personal debit card or HSA cards without interruption through 8:00 a.m. on Monday, June 9. We will mail your new First Commonwealth Bank MastercardTM debit card or HSA card on May 21, and you can expect to receive it in a plain white envelope within 7 - 10 business days. You can activate your new card at any time after receiving it by calling 866.392.9952 and following the instructions, including choosing your new personal identification number (PIN). This is the same phone number you will call to reset your PIN going forward. Your First Commonwealth card can be used beginning Monday, June 9 at 8:00 a.m.
Your new debit card can also be used as your ATM card. You’ll want to remember to change any debit card information that might be linked as a payment source to sites like PayPal™ and Amazon®. Learn more.

MastercardTM: First Commonwealth partners with MastercardTM for our debit and credit cards. You have the option to add your cards to your mobile wallet apps to use your phone at checkout in person or online.

Spending Limits: Enjoy greater spending power with increased daily point of sale spending limits. Consumers (including HSA cards) will enjoy a new daily limit of $3,500 and business debit card holders will enjoy a new daily limit of $5,000.

Withdrawal Limits: Enjoy 24-hour access to funds with ATM withdrawal limits of $510 per day (excluding HSA cards). You can also make deposits without an envelope required at any of our ATMs. You will not be able to use your First Commonwealth Bank HSA card at an ATM.

Overdraft Authorization: You will now have the option to “Opt In” to debit card overdraft authorization, meaning everyday debit card and ATM transactions could be approved, even if they will overdraw your account. If you would like FCB to start authorizing these transactions, which may result in an overdraft fee, you can request this at any of our community offices or by calling our Engagement Center at 800.711.BANK (2265).

Managing Your Debit Card: We offer the ability to turn your debit card off and on, set alerts or limits for different types of transactions or dollar amount, and set travel alerts through the SecurLOCK™ EQUIP app. You can enroll in SecurLOCK™ EQUIP by downloading the app and registering your First Commonwealth Bank debit card as soon as you receive your card. And coming soon, these card controls will be moved to within our mobile banking app.

Expedited Delivery: Need a replacement debit card in a hurry? Starting June 9, you can request our express ship service for $30 to receive your debit card faster.

Go Contactless: Your new First Commonwealth cards will feature Tap & Go® contactless capabilities. Look for the contactless symbol at the register and tap your card on the reader for easy checkout. You can add your debit card to your mobile wallet to pay with Apple PayTM, Google PayTM, Samsung PayTM, and Garmin PayTM from your device.

MastercardTM Easy Savings Program (For Business Cards Only): Your new First Commonwealth Bank Business Debit Card will automatically be enrolled in the MastercardTM Easy Savings Program, which gives you cash back rewards for using your First Commonwealth Bank Business Card at certain merchants and vendors. MastercardTM World Debit Card: First Commonwealth Bank Hometown Checking Premium and Hometown Checking + Solutions account customers will receive a MastercardTM World Debit Card with many additional benefits. You will receive a Guide to Benefits with your new World Debit Card via mail soon.

Enhanced ID Theft Protection: Enjoy free enhanced ID Protection from MastercardTM. All First Commonwealth Bank credit and debit card holders can enroll in this free protection, which monitors your credit file for activities that could indicate fraud, such as an address change, send alerts whenever suspicious activity is detected and provides ID Theft Resolution, assigning a resolution specialist to you should you experience identity theft. ATMs: We will begin the process of switching CenterBank ATMs to First Commonwealth beginning Monday, June 2 and they should become available on Friday, June 6. Please note that Balance inquiries may not be available during this time. Beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, June 9, you can use your new debit card to access any First Commonwealth Bank ATM location, in addition to 55,000 fee-free ATMs through the AllpointTM and Freedom AllianceTM networks. Foreign ATM Fees: If you need to use a non-First Commonwealth ATM that isn’t part of the AllpointTM or Freedom AllianceTM networks, a Foreign ATM Fee of $3.00 per transaction may apply for some account types. Please refer to the accompanying 'Terms and Conditions' booklet. Additional fees may be charged by the ATM provider.

CDs and IRA CDs: CenterBank CDs are compounded daily. This will continue until your first CD renewal occurring after June 6, at which time your CD will move to monthly compounding - unless interest is withdrawn monthly. You will receive a notice from First Commonwealth before maturity, allowing you time to make any renewal decisions during the 10-day grace period following the maturity date. All IRA customers will receive an annual statement each January showing prior year activity and fair market value. Please note that your First Commonwealth IRA statement will not reflect beneficiary information. If you have any questions about or want to update your beneficiary information, please stop in at your local office or give us a call at 800.711.BANK (2265).

Tax Reporting: CenterBank sent deposit customers a tax form for 2024. First Commonwealth will provide any future tax documents going forward. 1099INTs will be produced if the total amount paid or distributed for all such deposit accounts under the same Tax Identification Number is $10 or greater.

Inactive and Dormant Accounts: At First Commonwealth, a checking account is considered inactive when there is no activity for 365 days. A $5.00 inactive fee on checking accounts may be assessed each month that the account remains inactive. All Deposit Accounts (except IRAs) are considered dormant with no activity after five years and are placed into the escheatment process the next day.

Overdraft Protection: If your CenterBank checking account is linked to a line of credit or savings account for overdraft protection, your overdraft protection will continue without interruption. If you have a Hometown Checking Account, you are eligible for free overdraft protection transfers from any linked Hometown Savings account. If you have a Hometown Checking + Solutions or a Hometown Checking Premium account, you are eligible for free overdraft protection from any linked First Commonwealth account, including lines of credit. There is no minimum amount for an overdraft protection transfer at First Commonwealth. Transfers from the linked First Commonwealth account will be for the exact amount
needed including the fee (if applicable) and are limited to the available balance in the linked account.

Beginning Monday, June 9, stop by a First Commonwealth office or contact our Engagement Center at 800.711. BANK (2265) to link a savings, money market, checking, or line of credit to your First Commonwealth checking account as a funding source.

Overdraft/Non-Sufficient Funds: If there are not sufficient funds in your account to cover an item, we may allow the item to process and cause your account to become overdrawn, or we may return the item. In either case, we may assess a fee for any item presented. If we pay the item, a $35 Overdraft Fee. If we return the item, a $35 Non-Sufficient Funds Fee. A continuous overdraft fee of $8 per business day begins on the fifth calendar day the account is overdrawn.

Deposited Currency Fee (Business Customers Only): There is no fee for the deposit of currency, up to $25,000 per statement cycle with the Business Checking and Business Checking Plus. There is no fee for the deposit of currency, up to $50,000 with the Business Solutions Checking. Currency Deposits exceeding these limits per statement cycle will be charged $0.50 per $100 deposited.

Safe Deposit Boxes: Your Safe Deposit Box access will continue uninterrupted. For some customers there may be a small pricing difference which will be explained in a letter mailed on May 7. Autodraft elections for Safe Deposit Box payments will convert over to First Commonwealth.

Refer-A-Friend Program: Earn up to $500 per calendar year when friends and family you refer
open and use a First Commonwealth checking account.

Credit Card Rewards: Earn 1% rewards on your everyday purchases with our Rewards and
Student credit cards.

Easy Savings: Business debit and credit cards can earn cash rebates automatically through the MastercardTM Easy Savings program. Just use your First Commonwealth business debit or credit card at over 50,000 participating gas stations, hotels, restaurants and other business services with merchants nationwide for signature-based transactions and earn 1-4% back.
