Sherry Walther has been with First Commonwealth Insurance Agency for over 6 years and has been an Employee Benefit Advisor for over 10 years. She has over 25 years of experience in customer care and 21 years in sales. Sherry has really enjoyed helping individuals obtain healthcare products that will help them reach their financial goals. In this role she helps Seniors (65+) and Individuals (under 65) evaluate their healthcare needs and direct them to a solution to their health insurance coverage concerns. She has worked with Senior and Individual Health for over 8 years.
Sherry really enjoys working with employers, and individuals by helping them understand and utilize the benefits that are available to them. She believes that in this time of uncertainty and constant change in the healthcare industry, an informed client is your best client. In this time, consumers need to gain control of their healthcare cost and learn how to deal with compliance issue; Sherry takes the time to help understand and reach goals by evaluating the insurance needs, conducting competitive analysis through research, interpreting the results of the research and helping facilitate any changes that need to occur.
Sherry has earned from The American College the designation of Registered Health Underwriter®, Registered Employee Benefit Advisor® and a Charter in Healthcare Consulting™. Sherry attended Pensacola Christian College and Central Ohio Technical School with an emphasis on healthcare. While working in the insurance industry in Ohio, in 2006 Sherry earned a STNA through Allied Healthcare and in 2005 a P&C license from Morton Learning Center. She has a earned certifications in Senior Healthcare products, and Healthcare Reforms Studies. She is also a state licensed insurance professional with the following Lines of Authority: Property and Allied Lines, Casualty and Allied Line, Accident and Health, Life and Fixed Annuities.
Sherry is an active member of Singer Hill Grace Brethren Church, where she is a Praise Team Leader, Mission Committee Member, Youth Committee Member and Youth Leader. She is involved in the outreach ministries to the local food pantry, nursing home residents, and community services. Sherry has opened her home to visiting foreign and local missionaries, through housing and meals. She annually participates in SHGBC Youth Camp Fundraisers, VBS, Soup and Dessert Supper, and Church Service at the Jackson Heritage Festival.
Sherry has been married to Reverend Drew Walther, M.Div., for over 33 years. They have three children and one grandchild: daughter, Sarah (Walther) Sprout (married to Captain Joel Sprout, J.D. of the Ohio Army National Guard), Sarah has a B.S. from Liberty University, grandson James Sprout; son, Joshua Walther, J.D. has Law degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, and a B.A. from Cedarville University; and Ruth (Walther) Uhlendorff (married to David Uhlendorff, J.D.) graduated from The Ohio State University with a B.S. in Social Work, and currently enrolled in a B.S. degree in Nursing.
