Their means to doing business might be women's clothing but it's certainly not their mission. It goes well beyond that, according to Treasure House Fashions (THF) owner Sally Power, who says "Our mission is promoting the dignity and self-esteem of women, particularly women in transition or crisis. Outward appearance is not an accurate reflection of your worth, but it can affirm the treasure that you truly are!"
"Our heart is to affirm the worth of women on challenging journeys," said Sally as she describes how her business model changed from one she started to help her pay her own bills, to the non-profit it is today, run primarily by volunteers of tenderhearted women who love clothes but have even more love for affirming women by providing quality women's merchandise priced specially for single moms, seniors (55+) and female veterans.
To make her business sustainable, Sally had to manage her rent expense by finding an affordable, well located new home for THF, something she says she could not have done without the professional expertise and support that First Commonwealth brought to the table.
"They were effective guides in gathering information and advocating for us throughout the whole loan process," Sally said. "I feel unbelievably supported and encouraged by the staff at First Commonwealth. I felt like they were part of our team, and when we secured our new home, it was a major win. They truly shared in our excitement and celebrated with us."
