Community Commitment

First Commonwealth continues to reach out to local communities in western and central Pennsylvania.

First Commonwealth provides financial support through contributions and sponsorships to local community programs which enhance the quality of life of its citizens. Our local offices make decisions about events and organizations in their neighborhoods as they understand the unique needs in their areas.

We also encourage our employees to participate in making their communities better places to live and work by volunteering their time and talents to those worthwhile community programs.

We also participate in the Education Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program which provides support to those organizations dedicated to the education of our youth. For more information regarding the EITC program please visit here.

Vienna Boys Choir

You won’t want to miss this year’s performance of The Vienna Boys’ Choir coming to The Palace Theater in Greensburg on Wednesday, March 13, 2013.

The Choir is comprised of trebles and altos ages 10 to 14, based in Vienna. One of the best-known boys’ choirs in the world, it was formed by imperial decree in 1498. Often called "Austria’s young ambassadors," their concerts are popular worldwide, including choral classics and international selections.

Together with members of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and the Vienna State Opera Chorus, the Wiener Sängerknaben maintain the tradition of the imperial musicians: as Hofmusikkapelle they provide the music for the Sunday Mass in Vienna’s Imperial Chapel, as they have done since 1498.

The choir is a private, not-for-profit organization. The eight members of the choir’s governing body oversee its development and guarantee its future. The current president is Walter Nettig. Gerald Wirth became the choir's artistic director in 2001.
