Employee RecognitionFirst Commonwealth recognizes that our employees are devoted, focused, and community-oriented. That is why over 180 of our employees have been recognized with the Golden Tower and Spirit of Community Awards for their service to their communities. They are presented monthly at the board of directors meeting and are intended to honor those employees who play a critical role in making the communities in which we live and work better places for our families and neighbors. The individual contributions together add up to a tremendous impact on the quality of many lives. Previous winners have belonged to organizations such as the Humane Society, the Lion's Club, and the Visiting Nurses Association. Our employees have cut their hair for cancer patients, traveled to Africa to help rebuild communities, and devoted numerous hours to exceptional causes. There is nothing more essential to the success of our organization than the contributions and commitment of our employees. We also believe it is essential that this important behavior be consistently recognized. The First Commonwealth Service Recognition Program was created to do exactly that . . . to recognize those employees who are out there on a daily basis, doing their jobs and delivering exceptional 'First Choice' service to our clients. These individuals are our true service 'stars.' Employees have the opportunity to vote for one employee each week who exemplifies extraordinary service. First Commonwealth's Employee Service Anniversary Recognition Program honors employees who have reached career milestones with our company. Career DevelopmentFirst Commonwealth’s vision to become First Choice will only happen through the excellence of our employees. We must attract, retain, and develop the most talented team in the marketplace. This is one of the keys to realizing our strategic goals. To help grow our internal talent, First Commonwealth has several Employee Development Programs. The Management Development Program and the Retail Banking Development Program provide a well-rounded banking education to groom high-performing employees for professional & leadership positions. First Commonwealth also offers a variety of training and leadership development opportunities to serve our employees unique and personal development needs through a variety of courses, programs, and developmental activities.
