"An Evening with Ken Burns" – October 28, 2008 at 7:30 p.m.

Please join First Commonwealth at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall for an evening of entertainment with acclaimed documentary filmmaker Ken Burns.  Burns is the creator, director, and producer of numerous award-winning documentaries, including Jazz, Civil War, and Baseball.

His latest project, The War, has already received widespread acclaim.  A film adaptation of his book The War, An Intimate History, 1941-1945, the series depicts the Second World War through the experiences of four typical American soldiers.

Burns, a compelling storyteller, will share with the audience perspective on his creative process and how it relates to his latest work in particular.
